Good advice, but I would wear safety glasses when looking up at something that I am working on, just in case particles fall into your eyes.

Just recently did that. I didn't measure them. Got lucky. They fit. Love these videos!😊

Even more cost effective would be to clean old one ...paint and install right back where it came from. I do love all of your videos...thank you for making them

10 times out of 10 in my house, the screws run up into the gap between the duct work and the wooden brace surrounding the duct work. Never fails.

Great video sir. Ive done alot of Hvac and believe it or not alot ppl think you can get whatever size and it just fits, without cutting the ceiling and changing the ceiling boots/register boxes too. Sometimes even the size of duct work will change from a 6inch to and 8inch for an example. They don't understand and get huffy and puffy and think you can wave a magic wand and everything just goes together.

The part where you need to score the paint around the grille with a box cutter before it will pop off because someone painted the ceiling...

Sometimes you find 2 screws in each hole.

Hey wait a minute you measure the 6 by 10 grille,
Then went and got a 10 by 6 grille!

If you're in an older house good luck with that, they like to change the sizes every so often.

And always check for plumb and square. If anything square to a wall that’s not plumb!!

Why not take the old one with you to the hardware store?
gee
Only thing I would of done was vacuum out the hole if it needed it.
