I love new tech - I love PCF controls - but let's step back and talk about when we should use PCF and when we should think twice!

Scott, thank you for exploring the "why". So often, just because "we can" doesn't mean "we should"!

Great job which is usually we get the use from you. Thanks, Scott

Thanks for sharing, as always I say: Better to use the OOTB features and try to keep the development just to those cases when we REALLY NEED IT. Always having in mind that all the custom development adds complexity to the project and it will need maintenance in the future!

Fully agree here. The first option for many earlier WebResource or Dialog scenarios is currently an embedded Canvas App. All those "We nee button for X" or "Small external Search" etc. can be handled by it.

Great job. My specific problem that I’ve been researching is how to use PCF to zoom/pan on a PDF in my canvas app and have icons stay at its relative position? Any suggestions Scott?

Looking forward to build pcf controls using fluent ui repository of controls

I think the only real "need" for a PCF is if you need something like an iframe control, at least until Microsoft includes one in canvas apps. Great argument against them for basic use cases!

Hello Scott. I have an entity in my model driven app which has 2 fields which are same. Both the fields have my custom pcf control enabled. Now, if I update value of one field, the updateview method is called only for that field. How to call the updateview for the 2nd field at the same time?

Was looking to add RTL support dir=rtl for datacard textboxes - could pcf inherit the regular textbox and add this?
(For canvas apps)
