Hard pass. I just bought a 2012 Elantra GT 5k. I had to do 1 Wheel bearing $60, radiator fan replacement $120, AC refill $50, airbag sensor replacement of the steering wheel, the positive battery terminal needs a new sensor $90 , 2 new tires $120 . I did all the deep clean, and I let my mechanic do the job. All that was $600 in parts and labor, ( yes including tire mount the labor for all that was just $160). That car is showing a lot of problems that looks like more than $700

no Freon anymore. R-134a or 1234YF if it's a 2021 or later.

I would put money on the fact that it has sludge buildup in the engine because the engine drinks so much oil that they stop doing oil changes and just kept adding oil when it needed it.
Bad rings! Every GDI 1.6l and some years for the 2.0l...just terrible!

Why are comments like this? It’s at least $700 as HP is going to install it. You get a cheap economy car for Turo as it rents out a lot and renters just want a car. I’ve seen plenty of Turo hosts who buy a $40k. They then say this business is bad because they lose money as renters destroy it and they say “should have got an econo car “

Hyundai and Kia 1.6L GDI is a bad engine. End of story, those things have bad rings to start with and love to drink oil. That's probably the main problem but they have a lot of them so if you're looking at a car with one of these engines...don't!
