Trump Wants Out of The Debates, Harris Wants The Mics Hot

Harris and Trump are clashing over the debate in two weeks as Trump looks for a way out of them. Harris’s campaign wants the mics hot, so anyone can speak at any time. But the Trump campaign wants the mics muted, so only the designated speaker can speak. The Harris campaign says that she is ready to put up with Trump’s constant lies and he should stop hiding behind the mute button. They then added that Trump’s campaign knows he can’t control himself for 90 minutes so that’s why they want the mute button. And that they are making this statement because they feel that Trump’s handlers haven’t told him about the dispute & they think he should know. And for the record, those are their words not mine. Trump floated backing out of the debate yesterday to which the Harris campaign called him a chicken for. And today, he went against his campaign’s wishes and said that the microphones should be unmuted. The math on debates here is straightforward but hard for Trump. He needs more debates as Harris surges in the polls because he needs to be able to directly challenge and contrast with her. He has to stop her momentum & skipping the debates just makes him look scared. But it’s a catch-22 because the one constant that we’ve seen over the past 9 years is that the more swing voters see and hear from Trump, the less they like him. And while it’s only been a month, so still a small data set, it seems like the more voters see Harris, the more they like her with her favorability improving to around plus one, increasing by 18 points in just a month.

Biden wanted the muted mics, and since they tag teamed, Kamala should respect Biden’s wishes.
