My interview on UTV Live News on more than 60 people in Northern Ireland have been blackmailed online over sexual images in the past seven months. The statistic was revealed as police issued a warning over an increasing number of people falling victim to the crime.
Blackmailers threaten to publish recordings of sex acts online if the victims refuse to pay up. The PSNI have said they are handling about two to three complaints a week. The victims can range from young women to men in their 60s. They usually meet the blackmailers through social media or in chat rooms.
