For me, the Prince Ali song is one of the biggest reasons why the original animated movie works so much better than the live action 2019 movie.

As you can see, in this original version, Genie is beyond ecstatic to be around a massive crowd of people and cannot control himself, frantically zapping to interact with as many of the people of Agrabah as possible.

He has spent 10, 000 years trapped in a lamp in the middle of the desert in an ancient cave few people even knew of, and so after all that time, finally being around massive hordes of people is thrilling for him.

While Will Smith does do a decent enough job as the Genie, when it comes to trying to match Robin Williams frenetic energy, he doesn’t even come close

You see the beast from Beauty & the Beast (1991). Notice how the animators made the genie’s face (especially nose, mouth, & smile) look like Robbin Williams’s. Adorable.

One thing interesting and precious in this scene in the movie Aladdin is how the Sultan was basically doing something recreational and fun at the old boring routine habit to stack and amount all animal trinkets on top of each other.
