100% Control of Data Labels in Power BI

In this video I show you how to set up measure-driven data labels in Power BI. This lets you control what values get displayed on your labels and when they show. For example, when you only want a label for the highest and lowest point in a chart or when you want to add additional numbers like percentages to your labels.

Hello! You can do same thing more easy with: SWITCH(TRUE(), SELECTEDVALUE(1, 0), 1, SELECTEDVALUE(2, 0), 2) where 1 or 2 your conditions, instead of IF IF IF IF IF

Wicked work-around. Thanks. I used it on a vertical bar chart and it worked. But I was not able to get the dummy measure to work to correct the x axis value range. In the end I turned off the x axis.

It is some nice tricks you are showing. And we are getting into a lot of very nice visuals, where you/we can find our way through the jungle.
It would be nice if the Power BI team focused a lot more on formatting datalabels and all other elements where Excel have the possibilities to make a difference in understanding data.
I tried your trick on a waterfall chart, where I wanted to replace the value with the name of the column. Any idea to how my measure and calculation group should look like?

Awesome. Would there be a way to translate labels without tabular editor or translations builder? Imagine linking that to a language selection slicer? It means my multilingual rep working with a unilingual company website could present in different languages on the same webpage.

Congratulations Bas.
It's very sad, Microsoft still forces us to make such complex paths and big Frankensteins with external tools to achieve such simple things. Microsoft has really left a lot to be desired at this point and at others too, such as dataflows, which are getting slower every day.

Hey Bas, very interesting. Could you please help (do video) on how to dynamically change legend colors? Let's say there are 100 products under 20 product groups. In the trend graph I am looking at ~5 lines at a time but the colors are randomly chosen by power BI. I don't want to pick colors one by one, is any workaround somehow?

I have a requirement where i need to show the measure based on the kpi i select in my chicklet slicer. every one are working fine untill i wont use format function, but the moment i use format function am not seeing any value, its blank actually.please help on this
