Gee, that's to bad that they have to live up to what they signed up for. Maybe they shouldn't have gone to college? That was their decision. Put your name on the dotted line just like my daughter did and paid it off all on her own!! Pretty courageous, huh? Borrowing that kind of money takes some serious clear thinking. Not all 18 year olds are ready for reality in the world of today.

We definitely need to do something about predatory loaning. But outright giving money away? no. Drop the interest rate on student loans, and just charge administrative fees and bump payment out an additional 10 years, but don't just forgive it. I get it, we all been through the college recruitment phase of our life and most of us got suckered into it. Stop that from happening. You want an education cool, but make it abundantly clear to potential students you gotta pay off your loans. If you want a degree in underwater basket weaving go get yourself a private loan.
