When you’re a watchmaker with over 1,200 patents to your name, you earn yourself a bit of a reputation. In the case of Jaeger-LeCoultre, that’s being known as the watchmaker’s watchmaker, suggesting not only that the brand supplies other watchmakers with its movements—which it has done to no less than Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Chopard, Panerai and Cartier—but has also earned their respect. But is Jaeger-LeCoultre’s reputation built on fixing problems that never existed? Here are three watches to answer that question.

Honestly, from an engineering and horological pov JLC is in a league of its own. Specially so when you consider the staggering amount of types of watches and movements they produce.
While AP is all about Royal Oak really, Rolex is about Submariners and Daytonas, JLC has an astonishing array of designs, movements and watches to chose from.

I still don't understand why JLC isn't in the top 3 watchmakers. For engineering and craftsmanship, the only other brand that can stand up to JLC is Patek Philippe (and maybe AL&S)

Just fell over, twisted my ankle and hurt my wrist. But I wasn’t concerned about myself, I was concerned about my new Tudor GMT that I just heard thud against the door. I looked at the watch and there was a lot of wood residue thankfully on the buckle and bracelet. Then looked at the door and it has took a huge chunk out of it and I cleaned the wood of the watch and it is completely fine. Can’t say the same for me or the door though!

Beautiful, truly. The thing that got me the most for some reason was the clicks on the twin barrels. It's this small detail that extrapolates to the ingenuity and quality of the rest of the watch. Once again a seemingly unnecessary innovation that seems so right. And all presented so well. Great I wonder, could you guys do a vid of JLC's oil-free movements? Implications on longevity? Performance?

Jaeger-LeCoultre is my most favorite watch label. Their timepieces are extremely spectacular. Patek, AP, and JLC in my opinion are the holy trinity watch labels.
