I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

Hi Emma! I’m a student. I’ve been studying English for 5 years and the tenses are always my weakness, especially present perfect vs past simple.
Thanks for the video and the opportunity to win this amazing book!

Wow, what a fantastic give-away! Having learnt (British) English grammar with that book, I know how useful that English grammar book is to improve your grammar. My native language is Japanese, which hasn't got the concepts of the perfect present and the past perfect, and I used to have trouble with them. But, thanks to that grammar book, I managed to understand them.

You've touched an important nerve this time! Reading is definitely 'a must' for acquiring correct grammar habits.

I bought this book in 1997 when I was in London and I still have it today. Honestly, a must have for all serious English learners. Yet, since I bought it on a visit to Harrods I've been wondering why it didn't come with a teacher like Emma! So expensive that the store was (not the book). If one could get both I dare say you would speak perfect English in a matter of a few months.

Hello Emma!
I’m an English teacher and I teach English for Brazilians.
Most of my students have problems with prepositions.
Thank you for your videos! I love it all! Xx

Hi Emma! I'm a student and I think the most important problems in general are how to study. How to study an specific word, subject of grammar, listening, speaking, for example. I think the "how to learn" (what to do exactly) is the most important thing at the moment to learn something new and that's the problem we have in different countries in schools. In the future I would like to be a teacher and that's the reason that I always ask myself "how can I learn better?" and the reason that I see your videos, I find excellent your work as a teacher, you're really want to teach and that's admirable.
Thanks and greetings from Mexico!

I'm an English student. My biggest struggle with grammar is prepositions.

Hello Emma, I’m a student. I have this book about ten years ago. I’m so happy when I noticed that the one you commended was the one that I have!! It’s really helpful for my English grammar learning.

Hi there! I'm a teacher (ESL) and my students are mostly high beginner/pre-intermediate L1: Japanese. They often struggle with countable/uncountable nouns, as well as general usage of determiners. PS, I have the essential vocab book from the series, and I love it!

Hi Emma! Nice to see you again. I really, really love your online content, it is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing these tips, and the Grammar book with your audience. As you might know, I consider myself an English learner, and one the Grammar things that I struggle the most is "How to use linking words, subject verb agreement and all kind of prepositions". Btw, I'll be travelliing to the UK next year, hopefully I can see you there in Bristol. Thanks again. Nos vemos pronto. Lindo día, eres grandiosa.!!! ☺️

Hello Emma! I am a student and I love studying grammar. I struggle with phrasal verbs, prepositions and possessive cases. By the way, I have the book "Essential Grammar in Use" and it's really great. I just finished it. 😃

Hi, I’m a teacher! I'd say the most common mistake made by my students is about prepositions of place, IN ON AT. We’d love to get this amazing tool to help us learning much more. Thanks dear. 💕

Hey, Emma and her wonderful followers from all over the world! I find your YouTube channel and Instagram account are very useful in order to enhance our language skills.
Currently I am a Uni student (1 year). And my second language is French. (but believe in me French grammar is more brainstorming that the English grammar 😁). I absolutely agree with you that your grammar skills is essential in learning languages. And some difficult topics for me: participle and using right tenses. However there are any other grammatical issues but I presume they are often used in English. I would like to thank you for your meaningful videos again and I fall in love with your accent and way of teaching.
Have a wonderful weekend, world 👏😊

Hi, Emma! I teach English to Italian students. What they struggle the most with are tenses. In Italian we have conjugations (as I guess you know since you study Portuguese), so the tenses are more specific according to the context, while in English you have less tenses forms used in different situations. This is what confuses my students that sometimes don't see the difference, for example, between a past simple and a present perfect, etc.. Thank you for your precious tips.

hi Emma! What a Fantastic video, so useful!
I love grammar but sometimes I escape from those grammar problems.
I am a student and my two main problems are the Mixed Conditional and the prepositions of place and so verbs +movement prepositions.
Thank you again for your videos.

Hi Emma,
Lovely video as usual :) I am an English student and one of the grammar aspects I find most difficult is to remember with which verbs I should use infinitive and with which ones I should use gerunds.
