Someone's son, brother, Dad or Uncle wore this. A person who gave all for us. Humbles my mind and heart.

My 6th grade school teacher is my absolute favorite teacher of all those I have had.
Grant Robert Butler served with Darby's Rangers in WW2 and once a week he would take the class to the library where he would show us newsreels from WW2.
After watching them, we would go back to the classroom and discuss it all.
Mr. Butler is responsible for my love of history.
My dad also served in WW2.
He trained with actor Jimmy Stewart stateside before being assigned to his wartime unit.
Jimmy Stewart served with an 8th Air Force B-24 unit in England and my dad served with a 15th Air Force B-24 outfit in Italy. His group was regularly escorted by the Tuskegee Airmen.
My dad received two Purple Hearts and his group (the 464th Bomb Group) received two Presidential Unit Citations.
My dad suffered from PTSD long before it was accepted as a clinical/medical condition.
My mother once told me my dad was never the same man he was before he went to Europe to save the world from tyrants.
The Greatest Generation indeed.
Thank you.
From a grateful nation.
(salute)

It was a nice warm summer day here. Been to the beach ( i live in the Netherlands), drove in my shiny car, chilled whole day, going to sleep now, checking some youtube videos, realizing this vest shows me a brave soldier spilled his guts for Freedom in Europe....😢 So I could have a good life....God bless you man.

😢My father never spoke about ww2. He was wounded by shrapnel on the island of Mororai.
His college basketball scholarship letter arrived when he was on the boat to Morotai. He never played again.😢

Who ever wore this vest will never be forgotten it is because of him and so many others who took the main sacrifice is why we have freedom, and we must keep it that way for the honor and respect of these dear soldiers who's lives were cut so short.
