I’m not vegan but I find these videos interesting. However the one thing I love about you is you own your slip ups. It would have been so easy for you to not include the 5 guys footage and no-one (except you and Honor) would have known but you’re upfront and honest which I really admire! ☺️👍🏼

My Mum always used that saying with me, I wasn't a patient child, my middle name is Grace, so she'd always chant to me, "Patience is a virtue, virtue is a grace, Grace is a little girl who doesn't wash her face". I've never hears it anywhere else, that just transported me back to childhood 😁.

My mouth actually dropped open when you said your haul came to only 19 pounds haha! I have an aldi near me which has some great prices but it’s not nearly as stocked with veggie things (I live in the U.S). Loved the video! You feel like a friend 💕. Also I love soup!! So comforting and cozy

My game-changer for porridge was topping it off with lots of crispy cereal and fruit! It definitely distracts from the rather mushy texture of porridge and the sweetness of the fruit makes it less cardboard-y in my opinion. You should definitely give it a try, just cut an apple into small cubes and mix it in or put it on top!

Here's my favourite porridge recipe:
First, you mash up around 2/3 of a banana with a fork and cut around 2/3 of an apple into small cubes. Then you wanna put your oats into a pot (can't really provide exact measurements since I eyeball it, but just use as much as you'd like), top it off with a big amount of (dairy-free) milk (it should definitely cover all the oats), mashed banana, apple cubes and raisins, if you'd like to. I also love a dash of cinnamon and cardamom in this one.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and stir occasionally. You want it to thicken up but not become cardboard, so add a splash of water or milk wherever it is necessary. You basically want to cook it for as long as it takes the apples to get a little soft.
I personally like my porridge a little runny when I take it off the heat since I fell like it thickens up a bit afterwards. Then you can top it off with the rest of your fruit, a little blop of peanut butter and - most importantly - some sort of crispy cereal! That's the game changer for me, I NEEED something crunchy on top of my porridge otherwise I find it pretty unenjoyable. I personally use Kölln's classic oat-crispies (It's a German brand, not sure if they're available in the UK).
The mashed banana sweetens the porridge and gives it a creamy texture, the raisins bring sweetness as does the cinnamon. Most of the apple should be a little soft and warm and cozy yet the uncooked apple and crunchy cereal make the texture more varied. Peanut butter just works great in here and if you don't use sugary cereal you got yourself a warm, cozy and healthy breakfast! Whenever I have the time in the morning to invest 15 min into breakfast, this is my go to :)
