I couldn’t help but wonder if you appreciate the beautiful vista you gave us in this video... The kids playing, the wife helping and oh the open land beyond.

There is a story that has been passed down in our family, about my great grandfather Floyd Hazeltine, of Meridian, Idaho, he liked to hike in the mountains. When he hiked he would bring along berry bushes and plant them on the trails. I am hoping to get to Idaho one day just to see this. Wish you happy growing!

It will work. In 1938
My Grandpa propagated 40, 000 plum trees for his farm in bloomfield

I did this 2 years ago to our apple tree and used Clonex for the first time. IT WORKS GREAT! Used it on some Elderberries and an Almond tree too.

What a great find. You have to be one of the more resourceful land owners that I see on Youtube. I wish you and your family much success with growing your apple and peach trees. You are right there are hundreds of things that can be done with apples. It finally sunk in for me the old adage " An Apple a day keeps the Doctor Away". Funny how wise sayings stick with you all these years. I try to remember this when I taught SS for years with 3rd-5th graders. They maybe talking and doing things but they do retain a lot of things you tell(show) them despite what your eyes sees as "not paying attention". You all have a great day!

I want to make an observation in love. Encourage the younger children to contribute whatever they can to live on the ranch for their sakes. They will grow into healthier stronger more self-sufficient adults. Playing is great too but I think your tendency is to hunker down and work really hard which has its place but allow the kids to come into your sphere and contribute their labor, skills and talents and even thoughts so they can grow into productive adults as their father has. God Bless you all. I can't wait to see all the beautiful fruit these trees will produce.

I have done this for several years with all sorts of bushes and trees, but haven't tried apple or peach. I get about 1/3 success, but do it outside when it is warmer. I also keep the cuttings very wet, like mud until I see growth. I wish you good success!

I just wanted to say take a plastic bin like from walmart that is clear try to get one or some about two feet tall fill bottom about six to eight inches with your desired moist soil put cuttings in. Or take each cutting put in plastic bag 2in. By 12 or so in. Put in bin and watch them root and leaf out until desired and then plant. These two methods work the best that I’ve seen on YouTube.

Good stuff. Will be eagerly following your results. We want to do the same thing. We've just finished our first winter on our homestead and found a wild apple tree (from an orchard in the 1940's) that we want to propagate into an orchard on our 8 acres. We thought we might have to do the root stock/graft method, but if we can successfully clone the cuttings; like you said, we'd be a year ahead. Looking forward to an update. Snow is almost done here in Atlantic Canada, will have to prune the spring shoots soon.

If those trees take they will be HUGE vs modern bench graft dwarf stock. You can only plant a tree once so get some mega spacing between them! Pretty cool I hope it works! Going to have to try this myself now.

I live in Nova Scotia, we grow apples, according to info, you could get one of 6 or 7 types of apples, you need to graft the apple you want to grow to the trees you have grown . Good luck !!! Maybe contact some growers here !!! what ever happens, I hope you Succeed, I love your page !!! Will continue to watch !!!

From what i saw everything you did looks fine. I was a professional landscaper for many years and you did all you can do for success. I don't know your temperature or elevation or weather patterns but everything looks to be on the right track. I will say a 65% germination or rooting rate. You got a lot of trees on your hands my friend. Best of luck.
