In the story, he is there in the car, wife should grab her son and get him to the car where they all can be drive to the hospital.

Both are the a-hole your son has a broken ankle and you stay in the car pondering past trauma while your son is in pain is insane, then mom as well why call your husband and then argue with him instead of calling emergency services and focusing on the main issue at hand. Poor kid parents are so focused on there emotions and being in the “right” they let him suffer for longer than necessary.

YTA, If he has trauma, its just that simple. Yes it might be hard to deal with at some times but the only way to solve it is through conversation. Yelling at your partner over staying in a car for being nervous is something so embarrassing to the point i would jump of a bridge in second hand embarrassment if i heard the tension you claim to be his fault.
