I love how people say the Axe FX II so expensive, but run 10 pedals, a loop station, an amp head and cab(s). How much did you spend on all that?? How many times did you sell gear to get more gear to get "the sound"?

great for both and it reacts exactly like a tube amp, roll the volume down cleaner sound, and when you pick harder there is more distortion

"Black Hole" and "Stratosphere" are like guitar synthesizer patches....you don't have to be able to play to sound incredible. Expect to hear these everywhere.

yes. you can use it for fx only like you would in a standard pedalboard/amp setup. in that case you wouldn't get the benefit of all the amp/cab sims in the axe fx. or you can put it in front a clean amp and bypass power amp and cab sims. this would allow you to still use the preamp sims from the axe fx. i use this setup quite a bit live and in the studio.

Lukasz, I share your question here, as to pots, picking, and also I would add pickup selection to that. All demos I have seen do not seem to include any of those "natural" guitar-to-amp nuances, which I rely upon for tone and drive. I've been using electric guitars and regular amps for over 40 years, not sure how this rig would react to me, or I to it.
Guess I need to find one and try it for myself. At least they are based right up in New Hampshire, not far from here.

Wow, just got done listening to some of the new Line 6 Helix demo patches.  Must say Line 6 has made a major step up, but something still didn't seem quite right.  So came to listen to some Axe FX patches again and all I can say is WOW. PURE sounding.  Definitely worth the extra K in price if you can swing the extra K.  Otherwise the Helix is a good high-end on a budget device.

In the film Avatar they refer to a substance called "Unobtainium". This is how i see the Axe FX2. You can't walk into a shop and buy one in the UK. If you did with the midi pedal board you would be looking at upwards of £3, 000 to get it. If you can find a shop that will order you one. Line 6 stuff is available all over the internet and high street. Beauty is in the wallet of the beholder.

It's expensive, but it has A LOT of high quality amps well worth over 500 dollars. So, it is worth the money to me.

These units carry a weighty price tag but are worth the prive ten times over!! Foot controller is a MUST. Shitty it too carries a.prive tag of heavy cash.
