Jerome Powell LIVE: Federal Reserve Bank Interest Rate Decision | FOMC Meeting | US Market | CNBC TV18
Federal Reserve policy statement and projections after the Federal Reserve wraps up its two-day policy meeting Wednesday followed by Chair of the Federal Reserve of the United States Jerome Powell press conference.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the United States Federal Reserve is meeting for two days, July 30-31. Fed Chairman Powell will make the final monetary policy announcement on Wednesday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. ET, followed by a news conference. Global markets are carefully watching two developments from the July FOMC meeting: whether the US Federal Reserve will maintain the status quo or cut interest rates, and if Fed Chair Powell will remain hawkish or flip to a more dovish tone.
Markets expect the Fed to keep its ‘fed funds rate’ target range of 5.25%-5.50%, given inflation does not appear to be under control yet. However, markets anticipate probable rate cuts beginning in September.

This is theatre, on both sides, and that's good, but that is what it is. Both the questions and the answers are just 50 Shades of Gray for the economy.

Powell wants to help all Americans, especially the poorest. Every reporter, in every FOMC meeting only cares about one thing, lower interest rates to fuel the Bull Stock Market. How did this come about?

Your views are going down because your content is never objective and so ridiculously bullish, think about that ...

You'll know next week if Powell wants to help poor people if he cuts rates substantially, quickly. If he doesn't he cares zero about people and his ego is preventing him from coming back on his plan. Todays superlow job number is THE ONE INDICATOR of recession ahead. US Gov cannot take any recession nowadays as it's drowning in it's own debt, as is FED. It's not about stocks but about jobs and survival. Powell overrated the importance of inflation versus jobs. Also he has no talent for predicting and can only respond, he shouldn't have his job. He wil have many other talents, but for this job he's not fit. Worrying is he get's many hints, his colleagues Central Bankers all have cut rates, yet he thinks he knows better. I'm afraid for poor people in America losing their jobs, Jerome is too proud or arrogant to admit his wrong judgement and rather let the economy go into depression.
