This side by side captures why this retread of a R'N'F'R Classic stands apart from the original. The two guitars working together and criss crossing is truly amazing and moves me.

I think Cathedral delay works well with this, they are probably using spring reverbs on their amps, but this will make the tone thicker?

Anyway that D chord is difficult on guitar 1, I may try the easier guitar 2 D chord which is played at the same time. That D chord position is also used by U2 Sunday Bloody Sunday who were inspired by The Clash.

The best version of this song on the net. I almost saw Mick Jones in his group BAD but the show was cancelled because he had a sore throat or something. The replacement was Pop Will Eat Itself, a kind of pop indulgence that only happened in the 80's. The Mick Jones/Joe Strummer interplay is fascinating I think on Sandinasta they start talking to each other on one song, one on the left speaker and the other on the right speaker.

Such a cool band. They definitely influenced The Strokes.

I don’t know The Clash very well. Not much about their music. But anytime I hear “ The Clash”, I think guitar. Really great guitar. Who are those guys? I saw Rude Boy. They were great in that too. And Joey Strummer did an unbelievable performance of Third World Officer.
