L.A. DA seeks to resentence Menendez brothers for parents’ murders

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced plans to seek resentencing for Lyle and Erik Menendez in their parents' murders, potentially leading to their release after decades in prison. While he stated there is not universal agreement on the decision, Gascón believes resentencing is appropriate.

bottom line: if you have not watched the court tapes, your opinion doesn't mean too much. you have only come to a conclusion based on your own prejudice and bias, and based on the limited information you've heard from the media/ other people. you have no valid opinion on this case if you did not watch any of the testimony form the EXPERTS that evaluated the brothers during the trials, or if you have not heard any of the testimonies from the family or coaches, or teachers, or neighbours, all of the people that knew the brothers and the parents.
it is a very sad world to live in when people with hate in their hearts choose to judge and close their minds before considering the impact of words, or the truth.

it is time that we as a society evolve past our views of the 'perfect victim' and that we become more educated on the effects of childhood S/A, abuse and trauma. This case is a big opportunity for our judicial system to change in a significant way.

For anyone truly interested in the truth and in justice, please watch the court tapes. Only once you've honestly done this, you can say that you are on the side of the good.

If abuse came out in court then why did the family not speak out then like they are now?

In my opinion I don't believe these two were molested by their father. And why did the singer from Menudo come out now and say the father sexually assaulted him too. Sounds concocted to me. But I think 30 years is enough punishment. But what if other prisoners start questioning their sentences? Utto.

I think the Mendez brothers should stay in prison for the rest of their lives because they murdered their parents I’m sorry that they were sexually assaulted by their dad but that’s no excuse cause they’re are people who have been sexually assaulted and didn’t commit crimes cause I have a few family members who were sexually assaulted and they didn’t commit crimes so and they had plenty of opportunity to leave their parents they could’ve ran away from their toxic relationship with their parents instead of just killing them so yes they should stay in prison for the murders

I think if more people understand how LA law works ; the high price defense attorneys, their “ investigators “, and the PR firms who back everything up, they might treat stories like this with healthy skepticism

It's time for these gentlemen to get a second chance. But with that said, the amount of people acting like a bunch of fangirls or boys about this just makes you wish you went associated with humanity these days. With everything that has come to light since, they still had so many other avenues to go then just systematically executing their parents in brutal fashion, and then they tried to cover it up. The second trial was a rail job, but their was NO DISPUTING THEIR ACTIONS and to say that if they would've been tried fairly, they would've been found innocent is an ABSOLUTE STRETCH!!! Glad these boys may very well see the light of day after the documentary and looking into the case, but the people celebrating like New Years calling this justice are just a bunch of clout chasing POS.
