That’s what so many of these shows can be good for: getting ideas for something that you’re building

Your honesty was refreshing in this video. We need to educate people to be budget conscious and realistic with their off-road dreams. This, in turn, will cause manufacturers to adjust to better prices and quality. Right now the industry is delusional and perhaps so are the customers.

19:30 Yo Tory !, just some quick advice for your mom, a tandem axle travel trailer (2 axle - 4 tires) is easier and more reliable to tow than a single axle (2 tires) ...if you have a blowout, you still have 3 tires to roll on! then depending on the weight of the trailer (gvwr) + (hitch weight), she's gonna need a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton truck that can tow up to 8-9000 pounds... especially if she's gonna be towing through mountains ... Happy hunting !!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Consider a fiberglass trailer, like Escape, Casita, Scamp, BigFoot, and a few others. Thanks for sharing your day at the RV show.

I love trailers with rear bathrooms. Usually way more space to move around. Dont buy from camping world.

I would highly recommend watching videos from the Liz Amazing YouTube channel. She goes into a deep dive of the problematic build quality for a lot of trailers and motorhomes. The last thing I want to see for you guys is for your mom to be super excited for a trailer only to have a myriad of issues with it once it's driven off the lot.

I think when I build my pull-behind, I'll just get an 8x16 enclosed car trailer and build my own thang. Cheaper. Better insulation. Won't have to delete the stuff that I don't want.

Thanks for taking us along on this journey. My wife and I purchased a 2023 EAST to West Alta LE 1600MRB Aug. 2023 and it is just perfect with its murphy bed, large window over the campsite dinette and it folds into a bed with a rear bath w/ closet to boot. Lovin-it!

Out of all of these, I love two that are very affordable. One of them is what you said is your favorite. It has a very nice layout, is spacious and affordable monthly with my budget. The only things I would change are converting to 100% electric, adding a large solar system to it, and color scheme. The second one was right after your and my favorite. By the way, you, your mom and Angel are very beautiful! I would love to see your van build process before through after, and hopefully, you go 100% electric with solar (it's a bit more expensive but far cheaper in the long run if done correctly).

Your line "do you like it 10 thousand dollars more?" is so relatable!

As for me, I always buy used and well maintained when it comes to RVs and motorhomes. When you buy a brand-new motorhome or towable, it has already depreciated by 50% the minute you complete the transaction and drive it off the lot. I even bought a used well maintained 2017 Jayco Grayhawk ME directly from the owner for $70, 000 with only 13, 000 miles on it and it even came with a Sleep Number mattress which is super comfortable, and everything works wonderful on it as well as it drives smooth. I have heard many brand-new RVs having tons of problems as well, especially post pandemic.

Arm wrestling on a new travel trailer table. I was waiting for the table to go first. 😂 The more I see of new trailers the more I like vintage ones. Either way it's going to cost money.

Always buy quality after 10 years it will not look worn out and will still have value. That’s why people can buy airstreams, after the first investment they get a good chunk back each time they trade. At the more reasonable level the same still applies, durable materials, timeless colours, solid brand. They will have fewer problems and thus cost less to maintain yet still have value after 5 or 10 years. You always need to look at the whole life cost of any large purchase. Get one where they may allow the extra things you need. Most builders have options lists that are not always displayed at shows, upgraded materials, configuration options and some will have bespoke options as well.

We have had 4 over the years and no matter if they are $20kor $250k its nothing but issues and fixing broken stuff if fixing leaks. They are so cheaply made these days, will never buy another.
