The Bond Seamaster is a single-watch-worthy piece. If you want to buy one, which one should you get? I compare the Casino Royale 2220.80 to the 2018 ceramic wave dial version, the 210.30.42.20.03.001.
I also compare briefly the Planet Ocean 2201.50 (original 42mm 2500 caliber version).

Both are shitters. The modern 124060 submariner is leagues ahead of the current Seamaster 300m.

I have the first one. I bought it new and have worn it daily for over a decade. It is perfect.

2220.80 was my first ever Omega back in 2010. I've evolved through many different versions of the SMP since then. A 2221.80 sits on my bedside table now and it's great to be able to chuck it on anytime without setting. Absolutely love the dark blue of those old wave dials. But the SMP I settled on as my final perfect version is a 2006 Titanium (2232.80 on a 2231.80 bracelet). It's the third Ti SMP I've had (I love the metal), and I specifically hunted for the Bond bracelet for it. I've always loved the style (not so much the new ones, as you say). Thanks for the video.

The British SBS chose the Seamaster, specifically the 2535.80 GMT, as their unit watch. That is undeniable proof that the Seamaster is better. I’ve owned both and I now only have the Omega. The Subby was sold to fund another project.

Great video, hope your channel grows. New sub added!

P.S. I am not making this up, I also own a Planet Ocean, specifically the 232.30.46.21.01.003 (bought in 2017). That model came with the updated wooden box where my GMT (bought in 2007) came with the red leather case.

May I say, your older one needs a good polish. Just had mine serviced with Omega who replaced the bezel, both crowns and all seals and gaskets all within the standard service cost. Came back looking like new in a complimentary red leather Omega travel case. 😊

I love the color of the Ceramic but I recently purchased the '06 Chronograph version 2225.80 and I love it. My Speedmaster 3570.50 is classic, sleek and it has a backstory for me.

Went with the 2220.80 in 2020 when I got my first big boi watch and absolutely love it…

The 2220.80 was my first good watch. Bought it in 2008, just a few months before I went to live and work in Shanghai for a few years, so it marked a significant milestone in my life. For me it is the perfect watch for any occasion and attire. I also own other Omega models, a 42mm Planet Ocean, an orange PO Chronograph, both first gen models, and a De Ville Chronoscope which I bought half a year ago in unworn condition. Omega really resonates with me and especially around 2010 they had some very interesting models.
From time to time I also look at the current SMP models, but they have become too big in my opinion. They now are in the spot in which the Planet Ocean used to be and somehow lost the versatility that the CR and its predecessors due to their slimness had. I am also not a big fan of the cupcake design of the He valve at the surrent SMP. Looks a bit weird for my taste. I prefer the previous, more subtle appearance of it. It's also very prominent at the current PO line but that industrial gear wheel design of the valve looks much better than the cupcake design in my opinion.

Clearly the one and only 2531.80.00 with the 1120 caliber.

I owned both of these models. I sold the 42mm version. It was just a bit too large for my 6.9 inch wrist. Thick and chunky. I wear the 2220.80 almost every day. The fit is so much better (for me anyway). And I love the dial as there's so much texture and interesting things going on. I wear it on a Forstner Bullet bracelet (like the current gen Speedy bracelet). It tapers from 20mm to 16mm so it has a much more refined look to it. And I like the connection to my favorite Bond movie, Casino Royale.

I am actually considering to buy the ref 2531.80 preowned and it will be my only Omega watch. Modern Seamaster is cool but I prefer the neo-vintage one

Very good comparison. The new SMP (white dial) is my first and only expensive watch. I really like it but it is more of a statement piece. People notice it on your wrist because it is big and flashy.

Nice review. Nice collection. I have a 6.5in wrist, I got the 2222.80.(36mm) I would not sell it for all the money in the world. It could be the most perfect watch-Oh wait the Seamaster 300 Trilogy (Circa 2017) is. 😊

I owned a couple of the Seamaster divers back in the 2007 to 2010 era that had were 41mm. I also had the seamaster chrono 41.5mm. I wished Omega wouldn't have doubled their pricing because i would love to pick up the newer 42mm larger thicker seamaster. I like a larger diver. I have two higher end Seiko SLA newer releases 42.6mm cases that i recently purchased but the Seamaster was on my list. I just think Omega is about 20 percent overpriced above true market value. Im not picking on ❤Omega because Seiko is currently in the literal process and progression to do the exact same and in fact to directly compete with the price point of the Seamaster. Its about to happen in a matter of a few short months from now. Love your seamster on the right. The newer model. Man it looks fantastic!

Quality content. Hope the next gen will be less chunky and more panache.

Agree 110% on the 2220.80 and the new SMPs

Great review. You should do a video on the PO and since you have it I’d get rid of the modern. The Po is classic, more different than your casino and fulfills the tool diver role in style. I also had the nttd and that watch like the 60th anniversary have aluminum bezel inserts and with that thinner bezels and look way less bulky the the modern with its thick bezel.
