This Dog Begged Us To Help Him- Try Not to Cry

Even if you can’t afford a professional groom, there’s no excuse for letting a dog get into this condition, especially if you say you love them. Get out your own pair of scissors and give them a trim, long before the hair gets overgrown and matted… and give them a bath regularly. Even if the “at home style” haircut makes the dog look funny, it will grow out and look fine in a few weeks. Their health and happiness is your #1 priority as a dog owner. No excuses.

We found a dog in this condition in our bathroom once. Our daughters found him in the middle of the road when they were going out in the evening, picked him up and brought him home. He was obviously abandoned for a long time and very hungry. He was so sweet and we brought him the next day to the kennels we had helped starting. We already had 9 rescue dogs living in our home as well as 7rescue cats so we could not keep him, but it had a happy ending.

The thing that amazes me about these videos is that once all that mess and filth is shaved off, there is usually a healthy, friendly and happy dog underneath.

Huge amount of effort to remove all this overgrown matted hair ... keeping a dog like this, healthy, happy & shorn .. is not for the financially stressed ! So glad for this dog's sake that you carried out a welcome rescue... & getting vet's support as well.
