How can you blame him when the person who expected him to be righteous and called himself the messenger of God himself was a chronic hypocrite? Malcolm was called for serious business and not some playing around. He felt brainwashed. He felt used. He felt deceived, that a man like him could be so fooled. He was devastated. He just couldn't stand it. If Elijah Muhammed was a little bit honest in his teachings with Malcolm and the nation of Islam, I'm very sure it wouldn't have been such a sock for Malcolm. Malcom was disappointed with his teacher because the same person who taught him to be so clean was a pig. It's actually very painful. If Malcolm was a bad follower and a hypocrite himself, he wouldn't have felt such shock, but because he believed wholeheartedly. The others knew but he did not know, he was such a fool. It's like a woman loving, trusting and staying faithful to a man only to later find out that that man was sleeping with her loving sister and best friend all this while. That is how Malcolm felt like.
