Sentinel killed one of his own, attempted to kill his previous student, he attempted enslavement and genocide on a whole planet. He threw away everything important to him, whether it be his morals or his friends, he didn't betray Optimus, he turned on everything he stood for and it blew up in his face in the end. Fun fact: the original plan was to have Optimus accept Megatron's truce, and Megatron took the Decepticons to try and fix Cybertron, but initial consumer reports caused them to change it to Megatron's decapitation.

I remember when I went to go watch this movie people were freaking out about if prime was going to die. But when megatron showed up everyone cheered and clapped

5:07 I couldn't help but cheer for Megatron even though he died moments later. He spent the entire movie as this autonomous state of decay, clinging to what little vestige of pride he had left whilst he physically ailed from a consistency of losing battles. Finally, after the veil of his brief lucid moment of success faded; brought down by a lowly human; when he came to realise he, the once-great ruler of the Decepticons, was nothing more than a peon for a turncoat Autobot, he finally snapped and let loose to salvage what little dignity he had left.

Watching him blast, grapple, slam, pummel and tear great chunks out of Sentinel like a savage beast was so damn satisfying.

Peter Cullen's performance as Optimus Prime provides some much needed heart. Bringing back Peter Cullen, who voices the role in the animated series, was a brilliant move. He knows how to play this role to perfection, bringing a heroic leadership quality to the role and allowing audiences to connect with this massive CGI creation.

To this day, I still believe DOTM has the best final act for the live action transformers movies. A fitting end to the transformers trilogy

I was like "Oh shit Optimus is losing an arm" and then I rewatch Revenge Of The Fallen, there was a scene where Optimus cut Starscream's right arm, and then after Optimus was killed, Starscream and Megatron met in roof of a building, Starscream re-installed his arm just like that, so effortlessly
