'The Boys' are heading toward their final fight. Season five of the Amazon Prime Video show will be its last. Showrunner Eric Kripke shared the news on social media. He wrote, "Season 4 premiere week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the final season! Always my plan, I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax."

While I love the show and don't want it to end, there is only so many times you can have the 7 vs the Boys. Eventually, you are going to run out of excuses as to why so few of them die.

5 seasons is likely perfect for this particular series. Although I am sure there is material for more, but maybe spinoffs are better for that.

Gen V is awesome, so really looking forward to seeing that show grow.

It's a bittersweet moment. Ending a series while it's still ahead and wrapping things up neatly is the perfect way to honor its legacy. They've already set up a strong spin-off to carry the torch, so as much as I love the original show, I'm thrilled to see it go out on a high note.
