Hooray! Double Tapers live! Well at least they are still hanging in there. Check out how well DT lines work on long Euro Nymph rods when we don't feel like soaking nymphs with them.

I love the idea of using DT on a euronymphing rod! Thank you for sharing!

Very interesting video, never though about using a double tapper line for euro nymphing.

Great content!! I run DT lines on my tight line or euro rigs. I carry a piece of foam to put my mono euro leader on and can switch from nymphing to dries very quickly. Once one gets a system like this down, one can sufficiently switch back and forth without irritating issues. Thanks!! Always enjoy receiving your videos, especially your camera and filming videos.

I can also recommend 406 Fly Lines in Montana. I have their DTs on my 4 and 5 weights and since I generally fish streams and small to medium rivers I don’t need anything for these rods beyond that 50’ range you mention.

I like the idea of using the DT for flexibility, and I believe if we use a 4x leader with 2-3 foot sighter then 3 foot of 5x or 6x tippet would be a good choice for euro nymph leader rather then building a leader from scratch with the 30 foot of chameleon material.

Do you recommend using the same weight fly line as the rod weight (as in a 2wt euronymph rod would get a 2wt double taper line)?

Thanks for these videos!
