To make an actual 3d thing, jus divide x and y by a z value.

That'll make it so that the focal point of your view is the 0, 0 position. This means that when objects are further away, their X and y co-ordinates dilate to the center of the view, hence you can look at objects from "above" and "below" as if they where 3d.


Keep in mind that to have a 3d object, its vertices must also be 3d, or you have to use normal positions on an image, otherwise you're just shrinking a 2d image.


Also note that there has to be a dilation factor, or "FOV" which you mult by Z axis. This'll make sure that your 3d objects don't stretch too far, or too little to the center of your screen when further away.
