Happy Thanksgiving from the CS family to yours!

We're thankful for the support of our patrons and the city of Chicago these past 36 years.

As we embrace the joy of the holiday season, we're also taking moments to recognize the rich heritage and culture of Indigenous peoples. Our offices and downtown home in Chicago rest on the traditional unceded homelands of the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Numerous other tribes, including the Miami, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, and Sac and Fox, have also called this area home.

Throughout history, this region has served as a vital gathering place for Indigenous people to trade, maintain kinship ties, and celebrate their heritage. Today, Chicago boasts one of the largest urban American Indian communities in the United States, with its members contributing significantly to the city's life while preserving traditions and caring for the land and waterways.

In keeping with our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging we strive to express this dedication not only through words but also through our actions. Our pursuit to champion stories from all walks of life including Native American stories and our relationships with Indigenous communities highlight abundant opportunities and underscore our commitment to creating an inclusive and respectful environment.
