What I like to do instead of "face hidden, only eyes visible" is a species that I invented (or not, someone else probably had the idea too) wich are called Face men. They are pitch black humanoid creatures wich can shapeshift their hands, feet and face wich sometimes make a face with only a wide smile or with just many eyes
