Sis! My edges used to be a 0 as in I had none until you hipped me to fenugreek! I infused that in to some coconut oil and massaged it into my scalp each night (followed by someJamaican Black Castor Oil) and my edges jumped out of my head!

My edges are a solid 3. I do my own hair for the most part and have come to realize how important it is to handle my entire crown with
tender loving care🌹

I'd say 1.5. I'm trying to reduce my stress, inflammation markers, increase my nutrition and hydration, exercise, and continue taking care of my scalp with emphasis on my edges.

I literally just saw a dermatologist about this yesterday. It actually the entire front of my head that is so much more fragile and thinner than the back. The doctor said, simply put, I have traction alopecia and that my hairstyles are too tight. When I went, I had flat twists in my head, which to me, is no real tension at all. He said, 'when you put your flat twists in, didn't you have to pull the hair' ? He said I need to put zero tension for an entire year and gave me some medication to help. So honestly, I'm just going to treat the entire front of my head (the hair in front of my ears, like edges) I am also going to use lighter products and finger detangle only in the front

I would say my scalp is a 2. I have seborrheic dermatitis and I’ve realized that I MUST wash my hair at least every 7 days. I cannot stretch longer than that or I start to get sores. I also must use head and shoulders clinical strength (blue bottle) and I’m so grateful they released an expansion of that line! I use the one for dry scalp. Ever since implementing this regimen of weekly washes, I truly see the difference. My flares are only around my edges, sometimes in my kitchen as well, and it’s definitely affected my edge hair growth. It was thinning out so much due to the sores that I thought I was losing my hairline ): By not putting much tension on them and leaving them alone, even with styles, it has helped them grow so much fuller than before. I love my shampoo and my loose edges! I will start to incorporate more scalp massages and working to stimulate that blood flow!

Dermatologist years ago diagnosed traction alopecia. Scalp is a 2. Today I wash my hair twice a week with 2% zinc pyrithione . Mixed rosemary, tea tree and hemp seed to scalp daily. African thread to stretch. Moisture while in threads. No money for transplant. Used finestride on top afew years ago. Use methi for ends. Scalp tips you gave today just provided encourage ment

Hey. Young lady, who has so much enthusiasm about hair. I love it, my hair is a 1, which I have used castor oil, jojoba oil, and peppermint oil.

I love reading through the comments. I have a tinny bald spot and its not growing back and my edges are very thin. I started doing my own hair and I've been taking care of it for 1, 5 years. I think I'm a 1.7 (edge health wise) I'm not giving up that's not even an option I'll CONTINUE to nurse my hair and edges even if I feel like I'm not getting results. Maybe i have damaged follicles in some parts...I'm not sure.

It's a 3... I do scalp exfoliation twice a month. I switch between chemical exfoliation and clay washes. I have done it for a year and love the results. I also seal the moisture on my scalp on wash day and when refreshing my hair, I don't ignore the scalp. I have also incorporated scalp stimulants with my scalp massages. Thanks for all the knowledge you share. It's helping 🙂

I think I'm a 2. I've been wearing wigs after crochet for about 4 years trying to care for my hair. What happened was that my edges were getting bald. So last August I stopped and starting braiding (twists) and have been using oregano oil that I made. Oh baby, my edges are back! It's more than fuzz, so I will keep doing that.

My scalp is a 3. I follow a consistent regimen of weekly wash and deep condition and protective styling.

My scalp is a 2. I have excema, but it is mostly under control with weekly washes and oil mixtures (castor, fenugreek, tea tree). My edges are super sensitive and my doctor advised me to stop wearing my hair in a bun (never did braids or tight styles)...even if it was loosely. So, now I babbyyy my edges. I separate them from the rest of the hair. Great styles can be challenging to find with these guidelines, but it certainly pays off. They are growing in well.

1.5/ 2... I believe I have traction alopecia. The hair in the back and my edges have been gone for years. However, the hair on my crown grows well. I am taking your suggestions to visit a trichologist or dermatologist, maintain moisture and TRY to give my scalp nightly massages.

I am a 3, but 6 months ago I was a 1. I used someone's hairbrush and something really bad happened to my edges. I make natural skin and a few hair products, so I went to the Valley of help (elders) to help me concoct a formula..pine tree oil, and mustard oil massaged every other day grew my edges back. I wiped the area w lemon and figi water first. They say using vitamin C helps with product absorption and it disinfects also. I ordered ur Ebook!! Enjoying it!! 🌞

My scalp is a " 1" because it is dry and tender in some spots. I notice a big diff when I get stressed. I am currently massaging my edges daily with liquid oils like black castor oil, peppermint oil and jojoba oil. I lost my edges after several too tight sew ins a few years ago so I'm still recovering from that SMH

My scalp is a 3. I switched from prolonging my wash days for over a month to washing weekly with helps retain moisture and I no longer have dandruff which I was struggling a lot with before. I have short hair since my big chop which makes this easier but I spray my hair with a conditioner water mixture everyday which helps me refresh my style as well as make sure my hair and scalp is consistently moisturized. I also use a light oil, pumpkin seed oil, on my scalp to promote good scalp health. As for my edges, I’d say they’re a 2. They’re growing back nicely but they’re still a little sparse. I used to have trichotillomania where I’d pluck out my edges because of stress and they’re still trying to make a comeback after a few years. Definitely better though, I went from bald spots to thin growing hairs. I still lay my edges which I try to stray away from but only because the thinness is more noticeable when you have short hair.

I feel that I am a 2.5 . I massage my edges daily... morning and night. I can see a remarkable difference and huge growth change:)

I have to say my scalp & my edges are a 3, I wash my hair & scalp weekly & I don’t pull my hair tightly. I massage my scalp regularly with fenugreek oil that I make with castor oil. I just recently introduced Amla into my regimen also.
