I have not played drums in 25 years and was never that great back then, but watching some of your videos has got me started again and playing some of the beats that I could never own and play back then.I used to have problems trying to play "Fool in the rain", but now its a piece of cake.Maybe Im more coordinated now, but you break it down and make shit a lot easier.Thanks

Just want to say this is the best break down of this shuffle on the on the internet (at least on YouTube). I learned this shuffle on my own (self taught drummer), and this explaination is step for step how I had to figure the sticking is just triplets. I tell tou these kids today don't realize how lucky they are to have access to learn whatever, whether musically, building or creating something.

From listening to Bernard Purdie (way back in 1968)... and thx to you, to actually learning how to play his great groove myself. :-) IMO, you are indeed the best teacher I've seen on the internet! I am a piano and guitar player. I've had 2 sets of drums, but proficiency never arrived. My Dad always told me to stop drumming! It sunk in I guess. I still ended up teaching a couple of the drummers I've played with over the last 50 years how to play the latest greatest groove moves for drums. I had to learn them. Now I have to learn what you are offering here cause I sure love Bernard and this groove is so stellar. Was/is tough, and I have spent a bit of time focusing and practicing. I'm close and like you said, "you'll get it if you stay with me". THX so much for sharing your effort and expertise. Wow.
