This statement tells me that Senator Hatch does not believe that the American people have a voice of their own, nor the will to express their point if view. This confirmation hearing is important to everyone, not just the government. People do not have to be "put up" to anything.

As one who was raped at a party. I resent my and others stories being used to deflect from the fact that the people Dr Ford said witnessed this "assault" have denied it and none have come forward. The following stories by others of seperate incidents have not held up. We are innocent till proven guilty, yet innocent people have been jailed. To say an accusation is enough will increase that number and it will not be just sexual assault cases. And I reject the idea that of us are victims. I am a survivor not a life long victim. The only sham I see Dr Ford's letter to not be investigated from the beginning and then leaked once the nomination process of interviews were over.
