Movies was the only reason I bought alien ant farm’s album. I was hooked on that song from day 1. Remember hearing smooth criminal before it was released and was like this is a good cover. Needless to say, Movies is still being played on my Spotify today.

Whaaaat?! Tubular Bells is an unknown work?!! Exactly who composed this list????

EDIT: I noticed some people are justifying WM’s choice of TB by arguing that while its opening is recognizable, the rest of it is apparently a mystery (really?). Sure, that’s about as convincing as claiming Beethoven’s 5th Symphony is only famous for its “Da-da-da-DAAH” opening, while its remaining four movements are a complete enigma. Nice try…

Lit had another hit in 99. Miserable was successful. So not technically one hit wonders.

Thank you for mentioning Eyes Wide Open! That entire album is one of my all-time favorites, and it kills me that Gotye went away after it. PLEASE come back! We need you!

Jimmy Eat World has a lot of bangers that aren't titled "The Middle"

It saddens me to think The Verve are considered one hit winders in the States. They were huge in the UK.

“Eyes Wide Open” is a highly overlooked song in Gotye’s music catalogue.

"Someday We'll Know" is a beautifully underrated song by the New Radicals. I can thank "A Walk to Remember" for introducing me to the tune.

The lead singer of The New Radicals had HUGE success as a writer in the UK, Life Is A Rollercoaster and Murder On The Dancefloor to name just two of them.

The fact they acknowledged a song other than Smooth Criminal for AAF in the intro, and constantly have it on other 1 hit wonder lists is crazy work.

The Verve being a “one hit wonder” is absolutely absurd

Bitch by Meredith Brooks is still her most popular song. But What Would Happen off the same album is pure gold. Blows Bitch out of the water.

I have somehow seen Republica twice live. FOR FREE! I still don't quite know how that happened 😅
Also, LIT's a Place In The Sun album is a classic.
I want to add that LEN are so much more than Steal My Sunshine and have such a deep, interesting discography worth checking out.

The second The New Radicals song I do remember was really played constantly in the radio station of my hometown!!!

I'm surprised that songs like Sonnet, The Drugs Don't Work or Lucky Man didn't chart in the U.S. for The Verve.

First of all AAF had more than one hit. Second of all, millennials aren’t dead. A LOT of people still remember these artists and the release of these songs!

Someday We’ll Know is a song I probably played at least a dozen times driving back to Chicago from college. I tried to time the opening to being 90mi away.
