We have a “contract of Marriage” that we received when we married in Gujrath India, our marriage was not registered (had no idea we had to), now 31 years later applying for OCI they are asking for Marriage Certificate, how can I get our marriage registered from Canada? Do we still need to certify the Marriage certificate if it's issued by a member country of Hague Apostille Convention? There are contradicting statements on various websites. Some say that if a document is issued from a proper authority of the member country then document is already legal and doesn't need to be certified/apostilled.

I have only given name(first name) in Indian Passport and Canadian passport has only last name. When we landed In Canada, SIN was issued with last name only as my given name was considered as the last name automatically. Now when applying for OCI I am not sure what to do since I have only last name in Canada and only first name in Indian passport. Any inputs?
