saying that you 'built' your dream pedalboard is kinda like saying you mowed the lawn and won't have to do that again.

I went through my pedal experimental phase very early in my guitar playing. I bounced between so many effects before I simply realized I wasn't happy with my skill, and my literal playing. Took a few years and kept a very stripped-down rig, and now I only play with my amps built in reverb, a soul food distortion, and occasionally my ditto looper. My music just doesn't require much complexity

This is the 5th dream pedalboard video I've seen in my feed

Man, with your videos you're climbing quickly up the "like first, watch after" ladder! ❤

I recently picked up a used NOVO24 pedal train and started slowly acquiring pedals to play at church. I am about 70% complete. I am definitely featuring Strymon on this board where my other board had more Electro Harmonix. After my tuner (Boss TU-2), I am running 1981 DRV - EHX Glove - MadebyMike Dual OD/Booster - EHX Small Clone - Strymon DIG V1 - Strymon Cloudburst and Strymon Iridium. I am running the Iridium and Cloudburst on a Multiswitch plus for amp/Reverb Presets. I just picked up the DIG used and its quite amazing. I want to eventually swap the Glove for a 1981 LVL. The other pedals I still need are Strymon Deco, JHS Harmonic Trem and a compressor or overdrive. I took a gamble on the Fender LVL 12 power supply and it has been awesome so far, with enough outputs to power 12 pedals while charging my iPad and phone. I am trying to buy as much used gear to help make the process more affordable.

I like my tuner near the end as a kill switch as well as for troubleshooting. If you aren’t getting sound, but are able to tune, then you know your pedal chain isn’t the problem. I put it right at the end in front of an amp modeler & reverb. I use Joyo American Sound.

Very thoughtful board! I'm also a worship guitarist and have found a simple board helps me stay in the moment more, rather than thinking too much about hitting pedals (other than what's necessary). Not a knock on bigger boards--I love the huge sounds guys get from them--I just don't personally have the brain capacity to play, worship, and think about turning pedals on and off!

I have a massive board at home that changes every couple of weeks, but on the rare occasion I play out I do just as you're doing. Grab at most a half doz pedals I need for the specific gig and put them on a small board. Playing live I like to keep things simple.
My wheelhouse is pretty much 70s flavored rock, alt country, and Americana type stuff.
Typically I always have a tuner, a couple of drives, and a delay. I have good Spring Reverb and Tremelo on the amp.
If I need it I may add a couple more pedals, but only if the gig calls for it. News flash, it usually doesnt.
My typical go to gigging rig is SG>Boss Tuner>Boss BD2>Nobles ODR-1>Boss DM2w analog delay>Carr Rambler.

Love the ACS1 and your other modellers? Slap a line isolator on your board after it. (Pinstripe Diso+, Walrus Canvas, etc). A line isolator won’t drop your signal (like a DI will) and allows you to ground lift and eliminate noise running your signal to the PA...

No sir, YOU have a fantaastic day!

I love fly rigs, part of the charm to them is boiling down to the essentials and really push the creativity within minimalism. So far, my favorite "small" board has been a TC Polytune mini, Keeley compresor mini, Mythos AU fuzz, Matthews Effects Broker, MXR Carbon Copy, Keeley Hydra, & a Quilter Superblock US. I can do anything with that rig!

I play for my church as well, leading a youth ensemble incorporating guitar, bass, drums, and sometimes piano with strings, brass, and woodwinds. As guitarist, I originally employed a pedalboard then went to a multi-effects floor unit. The problem was a looper I did not want that accidentally was triggered by me in the middle of a service. That was when I switched back to a five pedal floor board consisting of a compressor (always on), an overdrive, a chorus, a delay (always on), and a noise gate (always on). I am thinking about replacing the chorus and delay with my Zoom 506 II multi-effect pedal (no looper) and adding my booster of tuner as my fifth pedal (I have a One Spot with a five pedal daisy chain). This will allow me to have chorus plus add a flanger, auto-wah, and octave pedal with one pedal.

As a pro tip (passed on to me from a famous guitar player you know many years ago) for the best tone out of your gear:

guitar -> preamp -> compressor -> noise gate
-> OD/Distortion -> EQ -> Boost -> chorus/flange/wah/vibe -> echo/reverb -> amp.

Compressor on Cleans
As for your amp: dial in that "sweet spot" in your amp and the dial in your overdrive/distortion accordingly.

Keep rockin' and learning!

I absolutely love the tone round the 7:43 mark.

Enjoy listening to your explanations. Your excitement, while contained, is very obvious and makes it a lot of fun to watch. So far I have a CAE Wah, Xotic EP Booster, BOSS CP-1X compressor, MXR Timmy, Wampler Tumnus Deluxe, Wampler Pinnacle Standard, JAM Pedals Rattler, Behrimger Super Fuzz, TC Corona Chorus, Line 6 M5. Want to at least add a Source Audio Collider Delay/Reverb.

My pedal board is on its 3rd addition. I started out with a single row, similar to yours, it jumped to monster size, as I narrowed my music preferences it became a pedal board half the size of the monster and larger then the single.

I barely know anything about guitar but I still love watching your videos and find them really interesting. I didn’t know you played worship music but that is awesome as well. Also I love that you played Clocks as one of the demos.

My current board consists of polytune, tumnus, Riverside, angel wing, carbon copy, flint and last a tc electronic Ir loader with custom Ir.

I'm doing my first pedalboard rebuild in 5 years. Its amazing how something I loved 5 years ago doesn't really inspire me like it did... also amazing that something which collected dust in a storage bin for 5+ years because it sounded good but wasn't what I was after is suddenly THE THING. 😂😂

Man this gave me some motivation. I don’t play live, but I always hate how disorganized my pedals are because they’re not on a board. I also tend to use too many pedals because of this. Sort of a “well I might as well have this fourth reverb in my chain in case I feel like using something different”. I think the space limitation of a small-medium sized board would really help me experiment more and find ways to get the most out of each pedal. With that said, I think my dream pedalboard with the. Pedals I currently have is: Boss OC-5 octave > Origin Effects Cali 76 compressor > Origin Effects Revival Drive Compact Hot Rod > MXR Duke of tone. In effects loops: MXR stereo Chorus > Dawner Prince Boonar > UA Golden Reverberator > UA Starlight > UA Astra

A tad less busy than what I currently have set up, but still gets me all the options I’d really need. Could probably remove the boonar as it’s a very specific effect I use it for but… it’s so good at what it does lol.

I made my dream board too, literally, couldn't find any pedalboards that I liked or suited my needs, so i bought wood, aluminum channel, rubber feet, black spray pain, velcro, and leathette, and got to it, got my pedals in the spots that I wanted, very fun, and I saved a lot of money
