I like checking in locations where there's plenty of glass. While I'm going back into a spot, I can see the reflection of the car and the lights working.

I back up to a wall and look in my rear view mirror 😂 Looks lit up red back there. I think we’re good 👍🏼

Another sign to check if your break lights are working is if the driver behind you joins you in the passenger seat.

No friends and sticks keep running away from me.

Or back up to a store front window. Easiest way to check. I’ve done this for years.

I have a habit of checking my lights in the reflection from shop front windows. Not just brake lights, but headlights and indicators, too.

Here in Texas they'll still smash into you brake lights or not 😂

Another lighting item...daylight lights alone are not suitable for night driving. Lights need to be switched on but so many people do not do this assuming that their rear lights are on...they are not and so these drivers are causing a danger to all especially on highways.

I work at a dealership as a lube technician and we always check all the lights to make sure they're working. If not we would put it in the multi point inspection.

I wish I had Scotty as a friend so I could check my brake lights

And if you have a Nissan frontier Xterra Pathfinder Titan 05 or newer it will perform a self-diagnostic and you can tell if they're burned out or not.👍

Turn on your emergency flashers. That should make the brake lights blink too.

I check my turn signals as well as brake lights when I have the opportunity to see the reflection in glass or metal, such as on the sides of buildings.

There is an easy way, park in the shop strip plaza, park in front of the window. check all your front lights. Then pull out and reverse into the spot. Check all your lights in the rear view mirror.

Do a weekly check here, back up to a garage or glass doors & check.

My old 1988 Isuzu Trooper-II has a serious issue with power surge that destroy all of the bulbs in one time including brake lights! I carried a pack of light bulbs and philips head screw drivers that I have to replace all rear light bulbs.

Would be nice to show in your video all brake lights, not only the .middle one. Some people may think only 1 is good.😊

Good reminder!
There are soooo many drivers out there with malfunctioning break lights! It’s a real problem.

I remember some of the older cars use to have 2 tiny lens in the rear that would light up when you put your brakes on. Some of the older cars even had tiny lens on the front fenders show your turn signals were working also
