We use rubbing alcohol on those plastic parts that get sticky over time. Use a cotton cloth and rubbing alcohol and rub hard. Sometimes it takes a few applications. Also, instead of Goo Gone to remove sticker residue, I use WD 40. It is not smelly, it doesn't take any color off of items, and after the sticky residue comes off, I do one more swipe with a microfiber cloth and a little Simple Green. Hope this helps! I use hand sanitizer to get the sticky stuff off, put it on and swirl rub with your finger and it will come right off, use the strongest percent like 70%-90%

I found that hand sanitizer 99.9% alcohol will clean off that stickiness off of old toys an such also ink spots in tiys
