Another point is that Prophet Adam a.s( May Allah be pleased with him) regretted his mistake and accepted it by the specific prayer taught to him by Allah but didn’t regret the loss which was demotion from jannah(heavens). He didn’t not go into despair/regret upon his loss.
Same applies to us rather to lament the loss and make ourselves depressed, to move on is better. Though hard but by reminding such examples can help to move forward.

In multiple places in the Qur’an, Allah warns us that Iblis is our biggest enemy. He works in such a smart way that he never directly tells us to commit a sin or a wrongdoing. Rather, he glorifies unlawful acts, and they look appealing to humans as we are weak-willed and our nafs Self gets the best of us
