How I Shoot With The BMPCC OG In 2024

I'm still in love with this camera. If you've used the BMPCC OG before you'll know that it produces an image unlike any other camera but it does have it's quirks. So today I'm talking through my setup with this camera in 2024.

For me that is the best budget camera ever made, never went to the 4k version because it looks too sharp. The OG hits the sweet spot in my opinion and i love the cinema.dng raw format that really shoots 24 photos per second.❤‍🔥

As a big fan of this camera, I've 2 now😅. One i use with a more simple setup: half cage, zacuto viewfinder, an old school 60's grip, metabones c mount adapter and as i live in Switzerland, ive found some quite cheap kern paillard lenses ( the ones on the bolex) with stock battery, but 5 of them in the bag with a usb charger and a power bank. The other one is more beefier: xlcs cage, metabones 0.58x for nikon with nikkor ai-s lensesand other f mount, follow focus and zacuto evf viewfinder. Quite the thing❤ thx for the inspiration!

I love the way you say "cinema." :-) I like that Joby tripod you showed, clever use of the articulating arms so you can hold it steady with two hands; that is an excellent tip!

I got this camera thanks to some of your videos from last year... 😊. I've shot two travel videos for my channel, and I'm totally in love with it! It feels just like shooting on film. My only gripe is a few artifacts popping up now and then, but I just bought an OLPF filter, so hopefully, that'll sort it out. Anyway, I absolutely love this camera! 😄 Thanks for sharing your views on it! Cheers!

I was considering the Joby Podzilla, but one video I saw said it's too easy to accidentally press that release button and with no safety on the shoe, for some people it's a disaster waiting to happen. Otherwise it looks like a nice compact tripod.

Your videos convinced me to buy this little badboi, got it for a really great price and am currently playing around with a kowa 6mm 1.8. Tho I have to wait for an adapter thingy to be able to use nd filters on the lens..

I don't need this camera ( I have Canon R7 it works fine for now and actually saving money for C80) BUT I want it. This camera is so special and it is hard to replicate this look and I hope I will find one for me 😁

I have three bmpcc and a bunch of vintage and newer lenses. You can use them with gimbals, tripods, handheld etc. On the cams in this room I have a mix of one 12-35, 14-45, 25, 12-32 and one olympus 14-42 and a bunch of older vintage lenses some good some average but ok. They work on the Atem mini and the Atem TVS switchers, in OBS, CamTwist and with the camlink HD and 4k on Macs and PCs so there are lots and lots of cool stuff you can use them with and for.

brother I got inspired by you and bought ur powergrade also. i shoot on 14-42 and with vnd. Yet I am not being able to get the color grade right. Any hacks or processes. Like the best way to use ur grade. starting with the correct cst conversion? need help. thanks again.

Is filming in pro res a much smaller file then raw? Also is the difference in quality much greater in raw?
