🤘🇯🇵🇲🇽 - TW has been in Japan to play 3 shows, 1 with Band-Maid where this song was introduced as an encore. Dany has invited B-M to Mexico and maybe sing a song in spanish. It would be cool to see that next year in February, when TW plays in Mexico City, Quadalajara, Monterrey.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う 💛。 I witnessed the live debut of this song 😍 that was played as the encore & finale of the special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Roppongi, Tokyo . My seat was located on the 2nd floor but in the center meaning in front of the two drummers. I was in bliss! It looked to me that Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed like a duel to see which drummer can kick harder enough to break their bass drum in the joint performance. 🤣
(FYI : In the special concert, The Warning, who opened as the special guest, performed so powerful that the Maids were fired up to start their turn with fullest energy as the hostess band. It was fun like a kind of martial arts between two fighters respecting each other. 😄)

The novelty of 8 musicians from two bands collabing is what sells this song. Not the best work of either band, though, because their separate styles differ so much. I'm not aware of anyone else ever pulling off such a thing and there is a damned good reason for that. It's extremely hard to work out all the details and get 8 musicians, some of whom have never worked together before, to agree on a composition let along perform it together while giving each band member a spotlight. It's damned hard for two drummers to work together at the same time. Akane (BM's drummer) and Pau were up to the task and did it live in Tokyo, but there is a very good reason why each are taking a part during the video. If two drummers are playing together and one is just a fraction of a second off in timing it will muddy the sound considerably.

It's interesting how the song is structured and this may be the only way they could pull this sort of thing off. Kanami (lead guitarist) started the composition (having The Warning's style in mind), then presented her work to the rest of the band. I think Miku (the rhythm guitarist and background vocalist who also speaks English very well) did the initial lyrics and each member in turn tweaked the song until they settled on their combined version. They presented this to The Warning for their input and I'm sure TW edited the lyrics as well as the melody. A lot of people believe they did all this while TW were in Japan but there was considerable collaboration via the Internet well before that. The song had some back and forth before the final version was settled upon. When TW arrived in Japan they spent the two or so weeks before this combined show in Tokyo getting to know one another as musicians in rehearsal. They recorded the song in the studio and did the music video, which accomplishing all that in the time frame is remarkable in itself and seaks to the level of professionalism both bands possess. I doubt TW could have pulled this off without their experience in composing and recording KMF as collabbing is an art not a science. You have to be patient and tolerant to not just give up on a project as impossible.

While in TW was in Japan they also hung out together as BM was TW's tour guides to some extent. As friendly as thy wee before the process, I think this established a stronger bond between the each of the band members. With that many different personalities involved they had to establish some ground rules for the composition making the project ore important than anyone's ego. That is also a reason why no one has ever pulled something like this off before (to my knowledge). The song was always intended to be included on BM's next album which releases on 25 Sept 2024.

I'm not sure when BM will come to Mexico for round two of their collab, a song I assume will be initially composed by TW. Some have suggested it will be in January prior to TW's big shows in February. That would be cool. And I'm excited for it. But the logistics of doing such a thing (while both bands are touring and promoting new albums) may be too much. Not impossible, but it is a lot of expect. A lot of people are also clamoring for more collabs, maybe an album. That's a pipedream as I'm not sure how that would be pulled off. It would depend a lot on the success of part two of their collab. Again, anything is possible with these two bands, but there are considerable challenges to overcome both logically and contractually with each band's label for such a venture. I would love to see them tour together (not just have a one-off show on each side of the ocean as it seems most likely for them to do). If it is in the works at all for the next few months, it's a project that a lot of people are working on in the background. Who knows? 😄
