I agree wholeheartedly with these sentiments . Although artists for instance in music business, often can redo and re edit work. However, I just want to know what colour trousers Wes had on with that pinstripe wonderful blazer.( Dahl would be tickled to be compared to Renoir)

As artist, we all know that once we publish some thing and throw it out there that version of it is out there and the public pretty much owns it. If you make an update, it’ll be a different version.

If you ask me, artist can remake their old work if the previous versions are still available. The loss of creative works is always a tragedy even when they are "replaced".

It's a vicious cycle. There is no "correct" or "perfect" version of something. What it is, is all there is. Constantly changing, revising it would dilute what the thing stands for. Like people, a work of art should be with all its imperfections, that completeness gives it a breath of life.

Kids have been reading Dahl for decades it's dark and weird and fine. I agree with Tolkien; if the fairy tale is too strong for a particular child's constitution, then hold off on the story whole cloth until the child can deal.

Idk i was an 80s baby and we had the most twisted children's books and movies.
