Boris Johnson has announced the Tories will cancel a planned cut to corporation tax in order to pump £6bn into the NHS.

The Prime Minister announced that the current level of 19 per cent would be maintained, not cut to 17 per cent as planned.

He did, though, say the Tories would cut business rates, reduce National Insurance contributions, lower construction tax and lower R&D tax.

Elsewhere, Mr Johnson refused to comment on the Prince Andrew Newsnight interview, saying he would not “get dragged into commentary about matters concerning the Royal family”.
