Immediately moved my game to the other drive after this video. Jk I did it before because I was tired of the game taking 1 minute in between deaths to load. Game changer tbh, I think the game is only playable on an SSD. It's sad when you consider how efficiently games like The Witcher 3 load, and it's open world too. The power of good optimization though

my hdd was the source of my fps and latency issues for my higher/mid tier game setup. 7700x and 4060, 32gb ddr5 6khz. was getting huge drops after 15 hours of gameplay, ive moved install to an SSD after making more space. difference is like playing a new game. this seems actually playable now and nice to look at, previous id been resorting to borked ini tweaks and mods to even run 1080 on epic/high

edit. I can understand for massive storage to still use hdd, but for gaming it's just slow.

This is actually very sad how those fingerless devs in game companies purposely make games unplayable to hdd so their consumers would be forced to be buy high priced ssds in order to play the game. It's a snake oil in both ways and very disgusting. If games like RDR2 runs perfect on hdd with fast shader loading and no errors this games have no excuse to be optimized like horse shit.

Are the game files on your hard drive defragmented? The Seagate BarraCuda 1TB ST1000DM010, Seagate IronWolf 4TB ST4000VN006 and Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB ST4000NT001 will look much better, especially in gaming mode.

kinda had loading hickups at the start with the hdd, but that is normal, wish you had tested more populated areas not just an empty trail most of the time.

It is not that funny when you recognize that the same sort of texure loading problems also happen on a fast nvme PCIE4 drive. That game has some serious problems with texture streaming, especially after loading a savegame.

At 1:36 you can even see the background graphic loading on HDD Side! And so much stuttering at the games loaded while walking...

i used my external hdd and my external ssd i use for gaming!

seagate 4tb external hdd--5400rpm(are there even any faster rpm for external hdds to buy these days?? been looking in every store i have !)
kingston xs1000 2tb "1050/1000 read/write mb/s so for the cheapest ssd i could buy its great!definatly good for gaming, mayby less if u need the fastest transfer speeds though!

The Traversal stutters are a vey minor inconveneince compared to the fact that you'll be able to play this game without a lot of issues. Slow texture loading and traversal stutters are par for the course and a small price to pay to let you play with an HDD.
