Excellent video by someone who really understands how the unit works, working mowers need maintenance daily, if you ignore them they will fail.

Hey man, I don’t think I have ever commented on a YouTube video before. I just want to say THANK YOU. I had scheduled my Z730M with 50 hours to be taken to the shop because the steering wasn’t working well. This video was randomly on my feed and I’m glad I decided to watch it. You suggested checking the tension rods and I found that the engine drive belt had come a little lose because the tension rod moved from one side to the other. I put it back where it needed to go and problem solved! I cancelled my appointment with the dealer. I appreciate you!

Great job on your video!!! Best video I have seen about the John Deere Zero Turns period. I had a Z510A for my first zero turn and purchased a Z915E with 60 inch deck last year. Thank you very much for all the info you put into this video, it is very much appreciated!!! This will certainly help a lot of folks. Just subbed to your channel. Keep up the good work.

I’ve recently become interested in ZT mowers as one of the most profitable OPE to flip. I agree with every other commenter that this is an excellent video, and would add that I suspect much of what you covered probably applies to all zero turns.
As for JD equipment in general, I just finished working on my very first, a 2006 130 Automatic lawn tractor and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at both the design and build quality. A very well thought out and constructed piece of equipment.

Because these are air cooled engines, you forgot an important part. The service manuals say to remove engine shroud once a year a check engine and cooling fins for dirt, oil, grass, and debris, and clean as necessary. Some of the engines that come in are packed with debris under the engine shroud. Occasionally, they overheat as a result, and push the valve guides, bend push rods, blow head gaskets, etc. Very important to check!
