Boat trip from Athens to Karystos Island

In this trip visited Karystos and the Trophy of Marathon Victory.

Karystos or Carystus is a small coastal town on the Greek island of Euboea. It has about 5,000 inhabitants. It lies 129 km south of Chalkis. From Athens it is accessible by ferry via Marmari from the port of Rafina.

The Battle on the plain of Marathon in 490 BC between Greeks and the invading forces of Persian king Darius I was a victory that would go down in folklore as the moment the Greek city-states showed the world their courage and excellence and won their liberty.
