Philip Müller has announced the release of Manjaro Linux 21.0, a significant update of the project's desktop-oriented, rolling-release distribution featuring the GNOME, KDE and Xfce desktops. This release updates the desktops to GNOME 3.38, KDE 2.21 and Xfce 4.16: "With our Xfce edition, we now have Xfce 4.16. The window manager received lots of updates and improvements again in the area of compositing and GLX. Support for fractional scaling was added to the display dialog, along with highlighting the preferred mode of a display with an asterisk and adding aspect ratios next to resolutions. The settings manager has improved search and filter capabilities. Thunar file manager received a boatload of fixes and quite a few notable features, including pause for copy/move operations, support for queued file transfer, remembering view settings per directory and support for transparency in GTK themes. Linux kernel 5.10 LTS is used for this release.

Just over 24 hours ago, the developer team behind this popular Arch Linux-based distribution announced the release of a new stable version. It is a system with a Rolling Release development model, which means that it is installed once and updates are received for life, and also that they launch two options: all the new packages as updates for existing users and what this time it was Manjaro 21.0.7 for zero installations.
It is not the first time a new version has been announced before it reaches my team, which is probably explained with a gradual release so as not to crash the servers. When it allowed me to update, I thought it was a good idea to do it from the terminal, but I saw a dependency bug that had to be fixed manually. As Pamac solved it for me automatically, I did not give it more importance, but there are users who have had problems, as we can see in this thread from the official forum.

But before we talk about the problems, let's talk about the news. GNOME users will have to wait a little longer to use GNOME 40, and those of KDE will also have to be patient if we want to use Plasma 5.22. For the rest, the developer team highlights the following:
Most of the kernels have been updated, the most modern stable version being Linux 5.12.9-1-Manjaro.
Systemd is now at 248.3 15. They emphasize that this series does not start linux49 or linux419.
Gnome Apps has been updated to 40.2, but the GNOME edition remains with 3.38 in the Shell.
Cutefish DE has been updated to v0.2.
Pipewire is at 0.3.30.
Deepin has some new updates.
Other regular updates, including python and haskell
With the above explained, there is a problem that may exist for existing users that is fixed updating from Pamac and accepting the changes that you suggest. Other things that can be done is to manually remove the packages that conflict with the new ones and try to upgrade again or use an older kernel, but keeping in mind what is mentioned in the list of new features above.
Manjaro 21.0.7 available for less than 24 hours, so that existing users can already update from the same operating system and for new installations there is already a new image on the page of project downloads.
