How to connect the Aspen FR5 loudspeaker

There are bi-wire connections on the rear of the aspen FR5. How best to connect them?

use the third method, called the holy audiophile cross: couple of jumpers plus couple of wires hooked up to woofer - and tweeter +

Like most things in the high end you should try the various options and chose the one that sounds best to you.

I would say it depends on the connection between the ports.. If it's cheap metal plates like most use then connect to the tweeter, if not then it should not matter but I understand your logic.

There is a third option:
Amp + to woofer +
Amp - to high -
Use jump leads.
That would equal any potential disadvantage, right?

I hooked up the Woofer input to a dog and the high input to a cat; All I hear now is a barking hiss! Meow! 😂

Electrons travel along the wires at a pretty good clip, much faster than the speed of sound.

I assume the speakers must have a crossover. Do the woofer and tweeter inputs connect differently to the crossover? Does the crossover work differently if the inputs are bridged?

Wait, what? Paul, you’ve consistently argued that bi-wiring is pointless unless you have terrible, one-trick speaker cables, but that bi-amping might be helpful for amps that are ‘specialised’ in terms of heft vs tone. Was that a slip of the tongue at the end, or are you changing your mind?

Is this all about possible sound degradation from 3-4" of jumpers? It looks like FR5s ship with the jumpers in a side pocket of the box and Dan possibly missed them when unboxing. Maybe better to film this with the jumpers in place.

Some speakers do away with such complexities altogether by having only two terminals.
No confusion, doubt, or guesswork.

When jumpers are used, won't make any difference electrically as it is the SAME point.
