Hassan deserved to get his story told, and most importantly, he deserved more than just 1 minute of coverage.

For people who is not really clear about this Syrian guy case, it is simple.
1. He bought a ticket from Wherever - KL - Wherever.
2. He arrived in KL and decided not to take an outbound flight. Some says he bought a ticket to NZ. Some says to OZ. Some says to Indonesia. Lets just say, nobody knows.
3. Stay in the airport. Get coverage.
4. Malaysian Govt told him that he will be helped and will be granted refugee status in Malaysia.
5. He refused. He told Malaysian govt, he only wants Canadian refugee status.
6. His story travelled the world so fast and all the human right watch and whatever watch, rush to interview him.
7. Australia, NZ, German and France offered refugee status for him. He denied all of them. He reiterated, only Canada.
8. Malaysia arranged the meet up between Canadian officials in Malaysia with him.
9. The Canadian officials reviewed his application and kept him on hold because 'he is currently staying in a country that is not in a threat of war (Malaysia)'. His applications will take minimum 1 year.
10. He kept on refusing any help from Malaysian govt and OZ govt.
11. He is detained. No news about it since then.
And he framed Malaysia to be a cruel country along with Nas Daily. If he did that in my home country, I can assure you Singapore Govt will personally send him back out of Changi Airport in less than a week. 😂

Do you know that my friend even go to the extend of just buying rice with vege only for lunch and take extra meat from other friend because she can't afford any chicken, beef and fish. trying to maintain at only around RM2 per meal. and she skipped breakfast to eat this RM2 lunch. This is a Malaysian. What Hasan was eating is at least RM6(refer to NAS Daily video), and that's 3 times a day. Making it RM18 per day but he get it for FREE. My friend at most spend only RM5 max per day on food. My daily shower is cold shower. No hot shower. Plus, he didn't even have to pay the water he uses. The electricity, the wifi. And how did he buy the cigarettes???
We do pity him because he doesn't ask for this kind of war to happen; but hearing all these complaints after everyone has been doing their best in helping him, me as a Malaysian felt that he's really ungrateful. And just FYI, Malaysia has been accepting lots of Syrian refugee, some even own business here in Malaysia. The only things that's holding him back at the airport is his WANT, it's not his NEED. He wants to be a refugee in Canada not Malaysia. That's it.
What he received at the airport are what lots of Malaysian envy. Not just the homeless, but the normal working people that earn lesser than the income average who have to live day by day thinking how to manage their money. How much can they save on food. Make sure electricity and water paid on time or else the supply will be cut off.
You really ought to re-check the facts before making videos.
Truthfully from,
A Malaysian who only showers with cold water every morning and night

Just imagine going to the airport, you see this man there, and when you arrive you see him again. Then a year later you see him again

Summary of the full story unfiltered :
Hassan, who was born in Syria, travelled and worked in the UAE during 2011 when there was a civil war happening in Syria. Since he did not complete the military service at home, he was unable to renew his passport. He didn't want to go back home as he fear that he would be told to join the military. He stayed in the UAE illegally until 2016 where he got arrested. And on 2017, he was deported to Malaysia, one of the few countries that allows entry from Syrian people that doesn't without any visa. His reasoning for not wanting to go back to Syria is : "I am afraid of being deported to Syria, not because I’m a coward, not because I don’t know how to fight, but because I don’t believe in fighting... I don’t want to be a killing machine, destroying my own home and harming my own people."
On 2018, Hassan booked a ticket for Ecuador using Turkish Airlines, but was rejected from boarding by the airline. He also flew to Cambodia by was refused entry and was deported back to Malaysia. At this time, his three month visa-free entry that was granted by Malaysia had expired, leading to his situation being stranded at the airport. During his time being stranded, he made a couple of videos showcasing his life stranded in an airport. But the highest attention was when Nas made a video about him, which focused on his poor living condition, basically insinuating an imprisonment.
But from the other side, Hassan was sheltered there, without needing to pay for anything, while he complained about eating the same food for three square meals per day, which was donated by the AirAsia staff. The foods, even tho they lack variety, had the necessary essential nutrition, one of which was rice and chicken. He also complained about showering with cold water in the airport toilet, and had no access to clean bed. Keep in mind, he was living in an airport that does not intend for these kind of situations to begin with. It was also said that at one point, the Home Ministry in Malaysia, considered of giving Hassan a special pass which could allow Hassan to stay in Malaysia, although it could take months, as security clearance protocol had to take place. Hassan objection with accepting the offer, was due to his belief that it will not solve his problem long term, as the offer given had no guarantee or option for a citizenship. If he accepts a temporary solution, but isn’t given residency in a country with local integration or permanent resettlement for asylum seekers, then he will not be improving his life for the long-term.
Hassan was arrested in October 1st, due to the big media outbreaks that was directly or indirectly caused by him, or as what the Malaysian Immigrant Department police chief said, a constant embarrassment and humiliation for Malaysia, which relates to his, or more specifically Nas video, which strongly suggested he was a prisoner in the airport, despite being treated fairly well.
Conclusion : I might have missed one or two things, or even failed to deliver some part of the story well enough, but I believe that is the full picture of the story regarding this situation. What you do with this information, is up to you the reader.

I’m a Malaysian. If I knew Agon came there I would’ve gone to the airport just to take a picture with him

Nas: “and Canada”
Me: *starts paying even more attention*

This whole video is completely twisted for the clicks and to make Malaysia look bad. He actually ran away from his country because of the military service (I'm pretty sure that's it). Malaysia offered to take him as a refugee and give him work, several other countries did too, but he wanted to go to Canada. This video is a despicable try to make Malaysia look bad, even tho it's the exact opposite.
