There is plenty of room for drama when it's a cricket match between the neighbours and the arch-rivals and nothing less is expected when India A and Pakistan A take on each other in the fourth match of the ongoing ACC Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup at Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1) Al Amerat on Saturday (October 19).

Both teams are placed in Group B with the hosts Oman and United Arab Emirates (UAE) being the other two competitors. It's noteworthy to mention that this is the first-ever edition of this marquee event in the T20 format while the previous five editions in 2013 2017 2018 2019 and 2023 were played in the List A format.

Pakistan A are led by the wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris who has added pressure heading into this tournament as the captain of the defending champions. Haris led Pakistan A to glory in the previous edition in Sri Lanka defeating India A in a fairly one-sided final. The defending champions have the likes of Haider Ali Shahnawaz Dahani Mohammad Abbas Afridi Zaman Khan Omair Bin Yousuf and Qasim Akram in their set-up making them the hot favourites yet again.

Meanwhile Haseebullah and Mehran Mumtaz who were part of the Pakistan A squad have been replaced by Maaz Sadaqat and Rohail Nazir as they got a call-up to the national team for the Test series against England. On the other hand India A will participate under the leadership of Tilak Varma who will be looking to go one step further than the previous edition.
