can i still use these built-in functionalities if my my sql server is SQL Server 2012 and i am using MS SQL Server Management Studio 2016, or does the server itself has to be of the 2016 version?

Hi can anyone give me the details of JSON functions for MS sql server Query to JSON output. I am on one project which need to create reports from ms sql server tables data into JSON format as per client requirement. and I am trying to do as it is but I need some more help. so please if anyone have json book or json blogs then share it. thank you for the video it's little bit use full for me.

SQL Server is not creating a REST API. It’s just formatting data as Json. How incredibly misleading. Waste of time.
