Reason crabs shouldn’t join Minecraft and why the armadillo should win.

1. Crab claws only extend block placing, not mining, interacting with entities or other blocks.

2. It is being added to a rare biome, meaning your never really going to see it whilst you play unless your lucky or intentionally search for the mangrove swamps

3. The crab being able to dive underwater is only speculation, and isn’t showed off or mentioned in the trailer, meaning there is no guarantee they will fit in your aquariums.

4. The mangrove swamp is a very recently added biome, and updates should be given to those that have had less attention.

5. The mangrove swamp already has a unique mob, being the frog, which even has biome specific variants, unlike the savannah which has none.

6. As a builder myself, I have never had issues with the block placing limit, and it actually causes me to feel more involved in the process as I'm closer to the build, and making scaffolding, as opposed then when I'm placing from further away in creative.

7. The amount of reach the claw provides is unknown and may end up not being worth it.

8. The Armadillo will provide life to a very empty biome, which has no biome specific mobs

9. It provides a minimum of 2 new items along with a new crafting recipe, and the new wolf armor can coincide with the existing horse armor

10. It will allow people with pet dogs to better protect their pets on adventure, allowing you to further stylize your dogs, and keeping them better protected and can save certain players from the emotional loss of losing a pet, which I have experienced in game and can be very upsetting, as pets are one of my favourite parts about the game.

11. Sometime in the future Mojang plan on adding Termites to the Savannah biome, which would exist in a relationship with the Armadillos as Termites are a common source of food for Armadillos, meaning they would gain even more features after being added.

12. The most likely way for the player to obtain the new scutes will be by waiting for a baby Armadillo to reach adulthood, meaning you get to spend time with little baby Armadillos!

13. Armadillos have an added feature of rolling into a ball when frightened, which is much nicer than the crabs, which would be to attack if approached.

14. People talk about the crab walking vertically, but this has never been confirmed by Mojang



Try to convince me that the crab is better.

The problem with the crab is that it would just be annoying. Like whenever you build you have to make sure you have the crab claw with you, it's best to just vote for the armadillo or the penguin for the more vague but still very useful uses.

Edit: another thing is, how would the crab claw work? Because each time it dies, it would drop a crab claw, so would the item have durability? It's too much of an extreme use in this game I believe.

Personally, it would be very useful for me to place the blocks further, since I am a builder, I make farms and sometimes I can't reach to place something, but I could take the claw in my left hand and place the blocks further with my right hand

The only issue that I have with the crab it’s at spawn location. In my Minecraft world I haven’t seen a swamp close to me. If the crab spawns on beaches as well as swamps, I’d be a lot happier. Also, when do crabs in the real world live in swamps. The more at the beach and stuff

The crab is not a good option i dont see it being better than dog armor when u can just bridge and scaffold to build rather than reaching🤦🏻‍♂️ this shit is for lazy ppl

For pvp or combat its worse just imagine having an army of armoured dogs, u would be invincible
